Printing PDF files from Moodle on a Mac

Having trouble printing PDF files from Moodle on your Mac computer?  Try these suggestions instead of the regular print command!

  • Safari: Right-click the PDF, choose "Open in a New window or tab" and then print like normal (File>Print or Command-P).
  • Firefox: Click the print widget  in the embedded PDF viewer and it will print correctly.
  • Chrome: Right-click the embedded PDF content and choose "Print".

How to whitelist an e-mail address

Seniors, it's that time of year! College acceptance e-mails will soon arrive!

...and you might want to keep them out of the clutches of your e-mail spam filter...

To whitelist an e-mail address:

  1. Go to
  2. Sign in with your Riverdale Google Mail username/password
  3. Hey, look! It's your spam! Check to make sure nothing important was caught, then continue down this list.Read the rest of this topic(147 words)...

Teachers: too much content in your Moodle?

To enable expanding/collapsing topic sections, just do this:
  1. Open your course
  2. Under the Course Administration block, click Edit settings
  3. Change the format dropdown from "Topics" to "Collapsed topics"
  4. Click Save
  5. Dance a jig (optional)

Your course will look something like this:

If you turn editing on, you can click the hideous orange editing button at the top of the page and then enable Current Topic First. This will show your current (highlighted) topic at the top of your Moodle page, and leave all others minimized below it.
